Constitution Day 2010

Wildcat ThursdayUKy Celebrates Constitution Day in Second Life

On Friday, September 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wildcat Thursday will be on the UKy island in Second Life to celebrate Constitution Day. Festivities include readings by local celebrities from banned books, a concert and apple pie – virtually, of course!

Sponsored by the University of Kentucky’s Chellgren Center for Undergraduate Excellence, the Gaines Center for the Humanities, UK Libraries, and the Citizen Kentucky Project at Scripps Howard First Amendment Center, School of Journalism and Telecommunications.

In the meantime, use the online resources to find primary and secondary sources on the U.S. Constitution (http://www.constitutioncenter.org/ncc_edu_Print_Classroom_Materials.aspx) … or check out this interactive exhibit (http://www.constitutioncenter.org/timeline) to see a timeline of the key dates and events marking over 200 years of U.S. constitutional history.
